FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Want to find out more about Save Our Spaniels? Sent an application but not heard back? How much are our adoption fees? You will find the answers to these and more of our most frequently asked questions below
HOW DO I KNOW WHICH DOGS ARE AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION?
You can find information on dogs currently looking for homes on our website “Adopt a Dog”.
HOW MUCH IS YOUR ADOPTION FEE?
Our adoption fees are £400 for adults and £550 for puppies.
DO YOU RE-HOME TO FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN?
We do not rehome adult dogs to families with children under 8 years old.
I’VE SENT AN APPLICATION FORM BUT HAVEN’T HEARD BACK?
We do have issues with our email address being treated as spam, please check your spam/junk file. Our SOS admin aim to respond to all emails within 48 hours.
HOW LONG DOES THE ADOPTION PROCESS TAKE?
How long is a piece of string! We never know what rescues we will be helping and what home will be suitable, so please just bear with us.
DO I NEED TO SEND A NEW APPLICATION FOR EACH DOG?
You can send an application form in online and then just an email to express interest in a particular dog at a later stage.
YOU HAVE SO MANY RESCUES NEEDING HELP, WHY WONT YOU LET US FOSTER WHEN WE DON’T HAVE A RESIDENT DOG?
Our rescues are mostly strays that have never lived in a home and spent their lives living in compounds or on chains in yards. A home is very alien to them, whilst the human family can help settle them, the vast majority of learning will come from following their canine foster/resident sibling.
WE WILL BE MOVING NEXT MONTH, IS THIS A GOOD TIME TO APPLY FOR A DOG?
We won’t be able to homecheck until you are settled in your new home and it wouldn’t be fair for you to adopt our rescue and then move them in a short space of time. We try to get our rescues rehomed as quickly as possible once they have been assessed, so would be unable to keep them in foster whilst you move.
